Last Friday, Home Instead Senior Care’s CEO Paul Hogan announced his family’s gift in support of the “Home Instead Center for Successful Aging,” which will be built on the campus of the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC).
The Home Instead Center for Successful Aging will be a two-story facility located at the heart of the UNMC campus. Construction is slated to begin in August 2008 with completion in August 2009. Work at the Home Instead Center for Successful Aging will be led by Jane Potter, M.D., professor and chief of the section of geriatrics and gerontology at UNMC and one of the most respected geriatricians in the country. As one measure of her stature in the world of geriatrics, Dr. Potter recently served as president of the American Geriatrics Society.
“We share a common goal with UNMC,” Said Hogan, “and that is to help people age more successfully. That’s why this unique relationship between Home Instead and UNMC holds such tremendous promise. We are confident that by working together we will find solutions with the potential to touch the lives of thousands or even millions of seniors around the world, and to truly help seniors age more successfully. And, every one of these advances in senior care will originate in a center bearing the name of Home Instead. “
