We have found that one of the most effective social media tools for connecting with other home care professionals is Linked In. Several years ago we set up our first Linked In Group, the Leading HoLHC Facebook Logo Squareme Care Network.  Since then our membership has grown on a daily basis.

This month, we passed 10,000 members.  These are home health care, hospice, and private duty home care leaders from around the world.  We are seeing growing number of members from the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore.

This is a close group, and is limited to individuals who are currently employed by a home care company, or our Resource Partners.  This means that everyone on the list is there because they want to engage in conversation about home care; not because they are trying to sell you something.

Here’s a list of current topics that have generated discussion:

  • I have a question about Medical Necessity
  • What about working with clients in at ALF or ILF?
  • How many older adults with dementia go without being touched?
  • What about compensation for travel time?
  • What about hiring CNAs versus hiring unlicensed personnel?
  • How to market for referrals?
